Services and Facilities
Plant mounting station
Proper preservation for the display of each plant specimen is essential for long-term storage. Several materials are needed which are available at the plant mounting station, materials include: mounting sheets, labels, family folders, ink, brushes and adhesives.
Specimen data entry and scanning stations
Data processing and cataloguing of the plant specimens are done in the Specimen data entry and Scanning stations. Information such as collector, date of collection, locality, accession number, among many others, are being noted. Currently, the Herbarium staff, with the help of student assistants and volunteers, are creating a list of available specimens.
Digital photography
A digital photography station is preset at the Herbarium to capture images for the creation of a virtual library.
Specimen range
Cabinets are provided to maintain a cool and dry storage environment so as to reduce risks of damage to plant specimens.
Workplace for research associates
A workspace for research associates is provided for floristic research.
