Patience is our virtue

Moving in to the new IB building allowed a fresh start for the herbarium. The specimens, which had accumulated several micrometers of dust, were temporarily placed in the display room and sorted by family. Now following the order of families in the APG III classification system, the initial plan was to clean and fix specimens, update and record their associated information, and store them in the cabinets. However, this was observed to be too time consuming. To minimize damage on specimens while making them easily accessible for research, specimens are being cleaned, fixed and then immediately stored inside the herbarium cabinets. The updating and recording parts are being skipped for later.

Thanks to everyone's help for the past 4 months, from more than 15 thousand specimens, it is now down to one more bag. ONE MORE BAG! For those who can imagine the time, patience and skill it has taken to reach this PUH milestone, allow us to indulge in this moment with a photo op.
